Like all Scion cars, the xD has hip urban styling, plus many dealer installed options to customize its look. Along with a spoiler, the dealer can install special interior lighting systems and performance upgrades. Additionally, each xD buyer can choose between three choices of wheel cover designs.
The xD is powered by a 128 horsepower 1.8-liter four cylinder engine. This is mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or the optional 4-speed automatic transmission. The xD gets good mileage with 27 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway.
Although the base price is under $15,000, the xD comes nicely equipped with many features not usually found standard on economy cars. The xD comes standard with a six-speaker Pioneer stereo CD player that includes an iPod adapter. Other standard convenience features are air conditioning, power locks, power windows, and keyless entry. For safety, this Scion has antilock brakes and driver and passenger airbags.
